Don’t Miss the 2025 WCA Winter Conference

Cattle producers are invited to attend the 2025 Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association (WCA) Winter Conference and Annual Meeting. This event takes place Saturday, February 22, 2025, at The Lodge at Mauston. The cost is $40 per person or $30 per person for groups of four or more.

The conference, open to members and non-members, kicks off with registration at 9:00 a.m., followed by the WCA Annual Meeting at 9:30 a.m. Attendees will enjoy a full day of educational sessions, industry updates, and networking opportunities.

Highlights include:

  • National Updates: A report from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
  • Legislative Insights: Updates from WCA Lobbyist Jordan Lamb of The Welch Group.
  • Leadership Reports: Updates from WCA board members and committees.

The event begins with a keynote presentation by Laura Daniels of Hitch Pin Consulting. Her talk, titled “Needed Hitch Pins: Why Connecting Matters,” focuses on appreciating work value, strengthening connections, and inspiring industry pride.

After lunch, participants can choose from two breakout sessions:

  • “Beginning and Aspiring Farmer/Rancher Tips and Tricks” with Kevin Plante from the Wisconsin Farm Center.
  • “What’s Your Farm’s Future? Start Making Your Plan” with Joy Kirkpatrick of the UW-Extension Farm Management Program.

Afternoon sessions include:

  • “Pasture to Plate: How Feeding Impacts What We Eat” with Zeb Gray of Diamond V.
  • “Defending Your Empire: Secure Beef Supply Planning” featuring Bill Halfman and Sandy Stuttgen, DVM, from the UW-Extension Division of Livestock.

The day concludes with a networking reception, offering attendees the chance to connect with peers and industry experts.
