Sen. Patrick Testin, R-Stevens Point, is beginning his third term representing the 24th Senate District in Central Wisconsin. He says he anticipates a productive session as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Revenue.
“The agriculture industry, which is a significant driver of our state’s economy, employs nearly 12 percent of our workers and generates an annual economic impact of more than $100 billion,” Testin says. “I am eager to advance bills that help our farmers strengthen the agriculture sector while also protecting our natural resources and the health of our residents.”
For the 2025-26 legislative session, Testin will put together the state’s biennial budget as Senate vice-chair of the Joint Finance Committee. He also serves as vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Health. Additionally, Sen. Testin will be the co-chair of the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions and a member of the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage, and the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology.
“While I will always work on all issue areas, I expect to primarily focus on cutting taxes, increasing access to healthcare in rural Wisconsin, strengthening our agriculture industry, assisting military veterans, and bolstering our workforce,” he says.
Sen. Testin has also been selected by his colleagues to continue to serve as president pro tempore of the Wisconsin State Senate. He was first elected to the role in November of 2020.
