At 6:52 this morning while sipping my coffee on the balcony, and listening to the TK Michael’s morning show, I heard TK release a somber announcement on the passing of his beloved dog, Duke, on Friday (July 5). According to TK he was 8.5 years old (that’s almost 60 in dog years). Apparently, Duke collapsed during a routine walk and was enroute to emergency vet services when he died in TK’s arms, while his son, who was driving, raced for help. Naturally, hearing this news hurt, because if you are a pet parent, as I am, you are keenly aware of the “family” bond that is shared between human and pet, and its subsequent strength.
