Bill Cody is a Country boy -- the son of a Kentucky Baptist preacher. Bill's fascination with radio began during his childhood, dropping off tapes of that week's Sunday service at the local station. He hung around enough to be "adopted" by the disc jockeys, who taught him the ropes.
Bill is also a Southern boy who's living out his dream. He made his way to Nashville via Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, with stops in Orlando, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas. In 1994 he made it Nashville and WSM, the birthplace of the Grand Ole Opry.
Bill has lent his voice and personality to countless Country shows on Nashville radio and TV, including the nationally syndicated Nashville Record Review and Country's Most Wanted. His favorite artists include legends such as Bob Wills, Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, as well as George Strait, Michael Martin Murphey, Lee Roy Parnell, Suzy Bogguss, and Patty Loveless.
Married over twenty years to his high school sweetheart, Rebecca, Bill is also the father of three active children. A father and husband, a Southerner and a Southern Baptist, a lover of books and the great outdoors...Everybody sees someone they know in Bill Cody.
Bill's Classic Country Weekend highlights his love for life, his hunger for learning, and and his love of laughter and music. As he likes to say, he's "somewhere between culture and horticulture." |
